WHAT DO I NEED TO START PHYSICAL THERAPY?
Starting is Simple! Our Doctors of Physical Therapy have Direct Access Certification, which means we can see you without a doctor’s referral for certain Insurance Plans and private pay sessions. Feel free to call us at 267-647-9097, and we can assist you in verifying your insurance coverage.
If your insurance plan mandates a doctor’s referral, you can ask your physician to write “Physical Therapy Evaluation and Treatment.”
Referrals can be sent via fax to 215-914-9073.”
WHY HOME BASED PT?
There are several compelling reasons to consider home-based physical therapy:
- Convenience: Home-based therapy eliminates the need for travel to a clinic, saving time and reducing transportation challenges.
- Personalized Care: Therapists can tailor treatment plans to the specific needs and goals of the individual in the comfort of their own environment.
- Comfort and Familiarity: Being in a familiar setting can reduce stress and anxiety, making it easier for patients to focus on their rehabilitation.
- Privacy: Home-based therapy offers a more private environment, which can be essential for patients who are uncomfortable or self-conscious in clinical settings.
- Safety: For individuals with mobility issues or weakened immune systems, home-based therapy can be a safer option.
- Family Involvement: Loved ones can more easily participate in therapy sessions and learn how to support the patient’s recovery.
- Reduced Exposure to Infections: In a home setting, patients may have a reduced risk of exposure to infections and illnesses commonly found in clinical environments.
- Accessibility: Patients with limited mobility or transportation difficulties find home-based therapy more accessible.
- Functional Training: Therapists can assess and address real-life challenges that patients face in their own homes, improving functional outcomes.
- Individual Attention: Home-based therapy often allows for more one-on-one time with the therapist, leading to more focused and personalized care.
- Minimized Waiting Time: There’s no need to wait in a clinic, which can be particularly important for those with busy schedules.
- Chronic Conditions: Patients with chronic conditions may find it more convenient and cost-effective to receive ongoing care at home.
- Transition from Hospital to Home: Home-based therapy can assist patients in transitioning from a hospital stay to home, helping them regain independence.
- Cost-Effective: Depending on factors such as insurance coverage and the need for transportation, home-based therapy can be a cost-effective option.
- Continuity of Care: Home-based therapy can promote continuity of care by ensuring the same therapist can work with the patient throughout their recovery.
